What man united need to qualify
And that could now include Inter Milan. So just trigger the automatic one-year extension in his contract? The year-old could have moved on loan in January but nothing materialised. And with PSG targeting a right-back to replace Thomas Meunier, whose contract is close to expiration — Arsenal and Man United themselves apparently want him — Dalot could be an option. It seems as though there really is something in this.SEE VIDEO BY TOPIC: Sensible Transfers: Manchester United

Jadon Sancho will reject Man Utd move if they don’t qualify for Champions League
Man United boosted their Champions League hopes by coming from behind to beat Juventus in Turin last time out. Manchester United will be looking to banish the memory of their dismaying performance in the goalless draw against Crystal Palace at the weekend when Jose Mourinho's side host Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The Reds gave themselves a huge boost in the competition by coming from behind to beat Juventus in Turin last time out, when they became the first team to inflict defeat on the Serie A outfit in the Champions League group stage since It left United second in the group with seven points from their four games, two points behind Juventus and two points clear of Valencia.
So fuming was the Norwegian with their capitulation at home to Cardiff that he threatened to axe half the squad after the match. And yet, there have been suggestions that Man Utd could still make the Champions League if rivals Man City are banned. Should Man City be banned from the Champions League, England's fourth spot in the competition will go to Arsenal after they finished fifth. There is a precedent, albeit a brief one, from Italy last season which suggests that team could be Man Utd.
Man Utd, Arsenal To Qualify For Champions League If Premier League Games Won’t Resume
Manchester United 's sixth-placed finish in the Premier League guaranteed them a spot in the Europa League , but will they have to qualify for the group stages? Red Devils fans will find themselves compromised with wanting their Etihad rivals to win the FA Cup against Watford on Saturday, as such a result would impact their own Europa League campaign. Should Man City win their FA Cup final against Watford on Saturday, Wolves - who finished seventh in the league - would qualify for Europe for the first time since They would be granted entry in the second qualifying round of the Europa League, allowing United to enter the competition directly in the group stages. Having to participate in UEL qualification will cause further fixture congestion for United's already busy pre-season schedule. Should Watford win the FA Cup, Solskjer's side faces a conundrum as they will have to re-jig their pre-season commitments and either pull out of their ICC fixtures altogether, or potentially split their squad between China and Europe. They could also look into moving the fixture against Tottenham to Europe, though both teams are due to play in Singapore a few days later. Being required to play in the Europa League play-offs would be even more of a disappointment to Solskjaer, after the Red Devils spent most of the campaign fighting for a spot in the Champions League only to lose out on fourth place by five points. A similar clash of fixtures happened back in when newly-appointed West Ham boss Slaven Bilic.

Man Utd are pushing for qualification to next season's Champions League and here's how many points they will need to do it. Manchester United need another 19 points from their nine remaining games to finish fifth, history suggests. As it stands, United are in fifth with 45 points, four more than eighth placed Tottenham, the two more than Wolves and Sheffield United who are in sixth and seventh respectively. The Blades have a game in hand on all those sides though, including United.
The Red Devils are expected to make a huge bid for the England international when they are next able to do so, but he will need to be guaranteed Champions League football if he is to move to Old Trafford. United currently sit fifth in the Premier League, one place and three points behind Chelsea, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester City occupying the top three places in the division. Manchester City have matching rights on any successful bid for their former player, so if they can successfully appeal their Champions League ban, they could not only force United out of the competition, but also pinch Sancho from under their noses if they wish to do so. However, Chelsea appear to be the club most keen to fight United for the young winger and if they can offer him Champions League football when the Red Devils cannot, that could be enough to tempt him to Stamford Bridge.
Do Manchester United have to qualify for the Europa League group stages?
United and Madrid are both expected to try and steal Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in the upcoming window. Haaland has only been at Dortmund for a matter of months, but already he has been tipped to leave. The Norwegian striker has been on fire during his brief stint in Germany, bagging nine goals in eight Bundesliga games. His form has seen him earn attention from around Europe for the second time this season, after sparking a bidding war ahead of the January window.
United trail from the first leg of the semi-final at Old Trafford as they prepare to face their local rivals in the return leg at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday. Solskjaer conceded they face an uphill battle against the title holders but said his players can draw inspiration from last March's stunning comeback win against Paris St Germain in the Champions League. United have struggled for form this season, having dropped to fifth place the Premier League - six points behind Chelsea who occupy the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot. The club have yet to sign a player in the January transfer window, despite being heavily linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes in recent weeks. I haven't got anything to say now. My mind is just on the game.

By Telegraph Sport. So what is now needed from their remaining two matches in order to guarantee a place in the last 16? United are now top of the group but only three points separate all four teams. That means the fate of each side remains in their own hands. Here's the crucial piece of information: a win for Manchester United in their next game - at home to PSV Eindhoven - will guarantee progression to the next round.
