Mod posts Serious posts Megathread Breaking news Unfilter. Obviously there will be success stories, this is a pretty stupid not to mention shitty thing to do. It's stupid because if a girl is the type to get something on the side going, she'll do the same to you down the line.

My ex cheated on me and her new bf messaged me saying, "hah! I never understood why he would be proud of that. Are you glad your new gf would cheat on someone even after 3 years?

I totally agree! Why would you want to have a relationship with someone who left their partner after developing something with you?

Clearly this is something they aren't against doing. Prepare to have your heart broken! I asked out someone else's girlfriend in junior year of highschool. Two years later we broke up for college.

Eh, just knew a lot of these types of guys. Caused many headaches. Mostly either neckbeards or meat heads, but always a pain in the ass.

I posted my story down below, but I disagree with you. If you actually, seriously like the girl, it's worth it to pursue I believe. You just can't be shitty about it if they don't have any interest in you, or really love their current boyfriend. The problem is that guys in this case often idealize the girl and think they are in love when they are really infatuated. Then they put stress on the relationship because they're crossing lines. They put the girl in an uncomfortable situation where they have to be direct with the guy, and it's usually just trouble.

Everybody is the star in their own story, and they feel they deserve to pursue their happiness no matter who it might hurt. I mean, if you want to go for it, then go for it, but in most cases, you're a shit for doing it. I guess so far I haven't had any issues with it, and I've had many long lasting loving relationships. But I agree with you that it can go to shit. I don't think I'm a shit person for doing it, but I can see why you'd think I was! I know nothing is ever black and white, but this is my experience.

Perhaps your opinion would change if you had to deal with guys like yourself, who are always fucking with your relationships. The nice thing is that it doesn't happen as much as you get older, but it was a pain in the ass when I was in my early to mid twenties.

My girlfriends never left me for these types, but these guys were always there to swoop in whenever we had problems. If you're messing with a relationship that's only a month or two old, then that's ok, but if it's somebody who has been in a long term relationship, you're being an asshole.

You're free to do it, but that's really the way it is. I'm getting married next year, so it's nice not to have to deal with that kind of thing anymore. If your relationship is weak enough to be broken up by someone trying to get at your girlfriend then it wasn't meant to be.

That doesn't give anybody the right to do it though. Even in a strong relationship, these guys will cause problems. I think anyone has the right to try and talk to your girlfriend if they actually like her and want to form a relationship with her.

It sounds shitty, sure. But, that's your girlfriends choice. If she tells the guy no, and the other guy is being shitty about it, then you as her boyfriend should support her, and her choice to stay with you, and work together to get the disrespectful shitty guy away. Yeah, but these guys always come in as friends, so it's a gray area. I don't tell my SO who she can and can't hang out with, but unfortunately, a woman doesn't always see that her guy friend is into her. That's awesome that you aren't controlling at all with her!

And you don't put up any resistance on who she can or can't be friends with! That takes a lot of confidence to do. Yeah, most guys are coming in with an agenda. But if you're a good boyfriend, and she is my personal opinion here mature enough for the relationship, she won't leave you, and in the end it can strengthen your bond! I guess the only thing a guy could with his girlfriend being courted, is be the best he can be for her.

If she was taken away at his best, was she really good enough for him or vice versa if it's a girl? It's tough to say. But if the guy were doing everything he can to make her happy and show he loved her and she still goes away, unfortunately yeah, guess she wasn't good enough for the guy.

And it's up to you to break up with your girlfriend if you think she's going to dump you for another guy. Simple as that. Not every girl is liable to being stolen. Meant to be is a line for people who refuse to actually deal with any of the difficult parts of relationships, nothing is meant to be, this isn't a Disney movie. I just use it for brevity's sake. I don't actually believe that there are some spiritual forces that that determine the strength of a couple's romantic bond.

That did just happen to me though. Girl I really loved and actually lived with for multiple years left me for another guy because we were apart for a few months, and things were hard. I hold little negative emotions towards her, and none towards him. But I'm happy she found someone she is happier with, and hope they last. It just showed me how much she didn't actually love me. And now I have the chance to look again and find someone who actually might. I really loved her, and miss her greatly, but I'm happy that it happened overall.

I feel like you've conditioned yourself to believe that you didn't deserve her love. That's bullshit IMO. I understand if a relationship doesn't work out but it most definitely shouldn't be because she found someone else. I bet she'll come crawling back when it all falls apart but just know that you ended up better off because you know when you find someone who loves you and you dedicate yourself to them it's mutual and you won't have to go through that bullshit heart break.

Just IMO. I'm glad you're happy tbh :. But I feel like any important enough reason is valid for a breakup. She found someone she can relate to and has more fun with. That's awesome! That type of thing can be hard to find sometimes.

I really hope she doesn't come crawling back to me! Me and her had a meaningful relationship, it would be sad to see she threw it all away for nothing!

Especially cause if she was crawling back to me.. The fact she won't like your answer encourages me to have faith in mankind. Good on you. Basically we all deserve to be happy. IMO if you aren't happy in a relationship you should end it before you get a better offer otherwise I question your motives I'm glad you're happy.

I agree with you. I'm not a guy, but I was dating someone else when I met my now-husband. My boyfriend at the time was an enormous asshole, and I was too blind to see it. Husband and I became friends and he slowly pointed out all the dick things that my then-bf was doing, leaving me to draw my own conclusions.

When I finally dumped the guy, husband waited a month or so before asking me out. I don't really considering my husband a shit for doing it. Yeah, he liked me romantically, which was his motivation, but he also liked me as a person and realized I was being shit on. If my relationship with my then bf had been a good one, husband wouldnt have had a chance.

We're guessing that many boys and men alike would love to know exactly how to tell if a girl likes you. Now, we could give you some tips and pointers on that, but sadly, it's not so simple with the girls. The foxy ladies like to include some subtle hints into sending signs that she likes you. And the signs themselves can be so faint that misinterpreting them could lead to all sorts of disaster. But even when a woman tries to make her intentions as clear as they possibly can, some guys just don't know how to take a hint, no matter how obvious that hinting might be.
